Engine Specs and Drivetrain

  • The Kia Sportage can be equipped with a 2.4 L 4-cylinder engine for 181-hp and up to 175 lb.-ft. of peak torque, or a 2.0 L turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes as much as 240-hp and up to 260 lb.-ft. of torque.
  • The Ford Escape can be equipped with one of three engines, including the 2.5 L 4-cylinder capable of 168-hp and 170 lb.-ft. of torque, the 1.5 L EcoBoost engine for 179-hp and 177 lb.-ft. of torque, and the 2.0 L EcoBoost motor that generates 245-hp and 275 lb.-ft. of torque.

Interior Features and Space

Both crossovers provide room for five passengers and have a wide array of available features including air-conditioning, infotainment, remote entry, multi-function steering wheel, and overhead storage.

  • The Sportage delivers 98.6 cubic feet of interior passenger volume with 30.7 cubic feet of standard cargo volume. This is expandable to as much as 60.1 cubic feet of volume for larger items.
  • The Escape’s passenger capacity is 98.7 cubic feet with 34 cubic feet of standard cargo volume. This is expandable to as much as 68 cubic feet with the second row of seats folded down.

Safety Features

Both vehicles come well-equipped with the latest in advanced safety gear, including a suite of responsive airbags, height-adjustable front safety belts, 4-wheel ABS braking, Tire Pressure Monitoring, traction control, electronic stability control, and hill assist control.
